Gunther Steinmetz - Merlot Barrique Tony 2015

Stefan Steinmetz has once again shown that Moselle is not only synonymous with Riesling or Burgundy, but goes much further than that.

The Merlot Barrique from Steinmetz presents itself in the glass with an unusually light and bright cherry red color. At first glance you would think of a Pinot Noir rather than a Merlot. The nose reveals exuberant notes of wild berries such as blackberries, some blueberries and raspberries. A touch of lingonberries completes the whole. Mineral notes of slate complete the perfect bouquet of this brilliant German red wine from the Moselle.
