Nittardi - Nectar Dei 2020

Nectar Dei is Nittardi's showpiece. This Super Tuscan, made from Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, has aromas of ripe black fruit, vanilla and tobacco combined with white pepper.

In an exchange of letters between Pope Julius II and Michelangelo, the Pope described the wine of Nittardi as “Nectar Dei” or translated, “the Nectar of God”. This name is still used for the wine as well as the tradition of donating the first bottles of the season to the current Pope.
